at New Haven Youth & Family Services
Seasoned child care counselor staff, recent college grads, or those looking for career alternatives and desiring to transition into the mental health services field….. If you are looking for a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an industry leader, we want to talk with you! We are looking for a few strong and caring FT and On-Call staff to work in Residential Treatment Facilities in North San Diego County.
We offer career opportunities for those demonstrating the ability to be effective in a fast-paced, varied and positive social service environment. Our counselors supervise, counsel and care for teens (males, ages 10-18). Our youth are those who have been discouraged and unsuccessful because of their academic or personal experiences and now display significant behavioral issues or difficulty making good choices because of these issues. We work creatively together to turn their lives around, encouraging a positive community, building new skills, and affording these youth career alternatives that reinforce and create new beginnings. Staff must also anticipate and respond to managing crises and emergencies. You will learn and expand your tools as you work within our programs to support and encourage, while bringing your unique talents and style to the workplace.
Our FT shifts are four days per week, primarily in the evenings with some day and evening schedules during weekend hours. Our on-call personnel fill gaps in the evening/weekend shifts and may also support some early a.m. and day shifts. Depending on education and experience, hourly rates are from $12 - $14/ hour. (Meals are provided for those working during meal periods.) FT positions offer health care, vacation, sick time and training. This is a professional but casual work environment.
New Haven Youth and Family Services is an EOE F/M/Disabled/Vet.
