Med Room Assistant - Part Time - Men's Center

The Med Room Assistant position would suit an individual who is passionate in service work, that thrives working independently and with a team, has excellent organizational skills and pays attention to detail, excellent communication skills, proficient in excel. This position serves our Men’s Center and Haven of Hope residents and promotes student health, safety, and accountability through monitoring medication times while creating a stable, safe environment necessary to pursue healing
- To maintain high standard of monitoring student medication in Men’s Center and Haven of Hope medication rooms
- To provide administrative support and other documentation as needed
- To represent our Mission, Vision and Values and continue to grow professionally and spiritually
Skill / Requirements
Education: Minimum high school diploma; AA degree preferred.
Experience: Minimum 3 years full-time work experience in a medical setting. Previous experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, various addiction challenges, mental illness and/or dual diagnosis is preferred. Nonprofit experience preferred.
Skills and Abilities: Calmly and sensitively employ appropriate de-escalation techniques with residents; working knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); typing (min 35 wpm); coordinate and/or direct a variety of complex tasks and assignments simultaneously and successfully; exercise good judgment and make sensible decisions; attentive to detail; prioritize effectively; effective oral and written communication skills; eagerness to learn and be trained; work both independently and as part of a team; provide information to public by answering questions and requests; regular, timely attendance.
Special License/Certification: Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited institution preferred.
