Technology Engineer / Analyst

Valimet, Inc. is seeking a Technology Engineer/Analyst for its Stockton, California office.

Job Duties: Work on research and development activities in the following areas: close coupled gas atomization, nozzle design and powder characterization. Transition successful R&D projects into production workflows. Study, understand and update existing atomizing facilities, maintaining thorough documentation and schematics of atomization systems. Propose and execute research and development activities for the industrial powder metallurgical process for closed-coupled gas atomization. Prepare, submit, and present general findings for consideration for industry journals, technical conference and events, while protecting controlled and regulated technology information. Assist in the review and approval of proposals considered feasible to management for consideration and allocation of funds from department budget.

Education Requirement: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Material Science, Physics, or a related field

Experience Requirements: One (1) year of experience in each of the following:

" Powder metallurgy related to closed-coupled gas atomization 

" Designing, testing, and building close-coupled gas atomization systems including table-top, pilot and production level systems

" Applying advanced physics and mathematics in relation to engineering, atomization, and metal powder processing

" Operating various laboratory equipment for high-speed imaging, scanning electron microscopy, atomization environment measurements and powder characteristic measurements

" Utilizing computer applications including spreadsheets, word processing, project management, personnel development, and engineering design
