Postdoc Research Position (Sacramento, CA)
The head and neck cancer research lab within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at UC Davis Medical School invites applications for a full-time postdoc research position focused on head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) research. The candidate will lead studies on immune evasion, therapeutic resistance, and tumor microenvironment (TME) modulation using genetically engineered mouse models (GEMMs) and therapies targeting immune checkpoints and TGFß-mediated immune evasion. Qualified applicants must hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent in cancer biology, immunology, or a related field, with at least 5 years of hands-on research experience in advanced cancer models, including orthotopic tumor injections in the oral cavity and small animal radiation therapy. Expertise in cancer immunotherapy, TGF-ß signaling, immune checkpoint inhibitors, and proficiency in RNA sequencing, multi-color immunohistochemistry, development of multispectral imaging protocols, and molecular techniques is required. Preferred candidates should have experience with radiation therapy models, managing radiation-induced fibrosis, and leading independent research projects. Salary ranges from $66,737 to $80,034, plus a comprehensive benefits package valued at approximately 25% of the base salary, bringing the total compensation up to a max of $100,043 annually.
