The County of San Diego seeks part-time temporary physicians to work as Temporary Expert Professionals at the County of San Diego Public Health Services, California Children Services Division.  An ideal candidate is a highly motivated pediatrician with strong analytical skills and experience in medical case management of children with complex medical conditions; has the ability to interpret complex medical information and application of State guidelines in determining medical eligibility; is experienced with Quality Assurance (QA) and Utilization Review (UR) of medical documentation; and possesses strong verbal and written communication skills to respond to disputes, appeals, questions and concerns regarding decisions made in case management. 
 
Malpractice Insurance: Pursuant to the provisions of California law, the County of San Diego, through its self-insurance program, provides coverage for its employees regarding malpractice and liability within the scope of employment.

Special Note:  Persons serving in positions in the Unclassified Service do not accrue tenure and serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

REQUIREMENT

Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California and verifiable experience in general medical practice.
