Knight LLC is a leading manufacturer of pumps and dispensing equipment for industrial laundries, commercial dishwashing and chemical metering. Pulsafeeder - Standard Products Operation (SPO) products are used to introduce precise amounts of fluids into processes to manage water quality and chemical composition, as well as peristaltic pumps. These businesses, among others, make up IDEX's largest segment, Fluid and Metering Technologies.

Reporting to the President, the VP of Engineering will lead Knight/SPO's engineering teams in Lake Forest, CA and Punta Gorda, FL.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing a team of highly skilled engineers by directing department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, design for manufacturability, and develop testing designs and procedures

Develop and communicate next generation product technology and strategy for all key market segments

Lead team in completing tasks required to comply with company's product launch procedure and directs team's activities to ensure successful new product launches

Develop and implement a formal lab and product testing strategy

Achieve key performance metrics to measure department performance

Achieve cost reduction targets for product design per budget

Direct implementation and execution of lean/six sigma policies and practices and design for manufacturing

Position is part of executive team implementing and executing plans for both short-term and long-term business growth

Achieve aggressive project launch dates by quickly resolving technical issues in specific projects when barriers are encountered by team

Develop a cost-effective product reliability/design validation strategy

Integrate a formal new product development process into the design practices to minimize the risks of new product launches

Ability and willingness to travel (up to 40%)

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology discipline; advanced degree desirable

Must have proven leadership ability, as well as project management skills to develop a strong team that can execute new product introduction and existing product upgrades, while concurrently meeting specifications, costs, and timelines

Experience with Asian manufacturing and engineering resources is required for this position

15+ years of engineering and management experience with 5+ in a senior management role

Requires exceptional communication, presentation, and people skills

Six sigma & design for six sigma experience required

Proven success in developing technology strategies and integrating them into new products that capture market share and profits
