JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director and Manager, the incumbent supervises and coordinates the activities of assigned Billing Department staff. Also acts as the Supervisor on duty when other managers are not in the office. Works directly with physician leaders regarding billing issues and concerns. Represents Billing Director with various functions/meetings as assigned. This is an exempt management position with a high level of experience, leadership and decision-making required.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent
10+ years of billing experience
5 years prior supervisory experience
Proven ability to work effectively with staff, management and physicians
Proven knowledge of ICD-9 coding, CPT and modifier coding
Proven knowledge of Medi-Cal, CCS, and 3rd party payors with pediatric medical/surgical subspecialties
Proven knowledge of billing software systems
Proven knowledge and technical skills to perform insurance follow-up with positive financial results to include accuracy, timeliness and attention to detail
Proficient computer skills
Proven knowledge in analytical skills when reviewing financials for client
Strong customer service skills applied to both internal and external customers
Strong team orientation
Ability to organize and manage multiple concurrent projects/priorities, motivate staff and achieve resultsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor-s degree

Subspecialty billing experience

Coding or Billing Certificate highly preferred
