Position Title: Software Development Engineer III

Position Responsibilities: The position involves driving the architecture and design of large-scale, multi-tiered, distributed software applications, tools, systems and services using C++, Java, Python, Hadoop and relational database technologies. Gather business and functional requirements from external and/or internal customers and end-users, and translate requirements into technical specifications to build robust, scalable solutions that work well between a range of complex systems. Serve as technical lead throughout the full development lifecycle, end-to-end, from scoping, planning, conception, design, implementation and testing, to documentation, delivery and maintenance. Provide design reviews for other engineers, including feedback on architecture and design issues, as well as integration, performance and scalability. Manage resources on multiple technical projects and ensure schedules, milestones, and priorities are compatible with technology and business goals.

Position Requirements: Position requires a Master s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus at least two years of experience in the job offered or related occupations of Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field plus five years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered or a related occupation in lieu of the Master s degree and two years of experience. Two years of experience must involve designing and implementing large-scale, multi-tiered software applications and systems using Perl or Python, Oracle or MySQL, Object Oriented design, and distributed programming in C++ or Java. Also requires one year of experience serving as a technical lead and mentoring junior engineers, and advanced knowledge of algorithms.
