Since 1969, San Ysidro Health Center (SYHC) has been providing quality, low-cost, primary health care services to South Bay & Central/Southeastern San Diego residents. SYHC offers an extensive array of family-oriented primary health care services, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, adult medicine, dental care, mental health, podiatry, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. We currently have an opening for a Senior Project Manager at our SYHC Corporate Office.
Position Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Senior Vice President of Administration and Finance, the Project Manager will be responsible for activities related to organizational projects. This individual will be integral in managing the integration of EMR (Electronic Medical Record) system. He/she will determine appropriate reporting mechanisms and plan and coordinate activities of designated projects. He/she will ensure critical data elements/reports are generated to help measure systems and processes. He/she will ensure that project teams meet assigned goals or objectives and in the analysis and evaluation process.
Essential Functions of the Job:
1. Manages activities of project teams to ensure an assigned project progresses on schedule and within prescribed guidelines (i.e. resources, budget).
2. Supports internal project communication with Project Teams.
3. Determines, coordinates and assists with all activities relevant to any phases related to Project Management including project plan, research, planning, analysis, and implementation and follow up (similar to PDSA cycle).
4. Generates status reports and trends on an assigned project progression including any changes/issues/concerns.
5. Assists with reviewing, revising and/or creating policies and procedures as part of the implementation of a project.
6. Coordinates meetings, creates agendas and takes minutes as necessary. May facilitate meetings.
7. Tracks and documents all activities related to an assigned project.
8. Actively manages and participates on project teams.
9. Conducts quality evaluations and analysis to assess skill/knowledge level of all staff impacted as part of a project.
10. Performs project audits to ensure compliance with defined processes and standards.
11. Works closely with supervisors and Project Teams to develop training for areas identified as a result of a new process or change to an existing process.
12. When a new system or process is implemented, he/she may evaluate staff on level of knowledge in different critical work areas as part of the follow up process.
13. Attends meetings as appropriate and contributes ideas for improving efficiency productivity and patient satisfaction.
Skills / Requirements
Education: BA/BS in Business, Engineering, or computer related discipline. MBA or other relevant degree is preferred.
Certification: Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) credential. MS Office.
Experience: 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution. 5 years experience working in healthcare environment. Project manager for implementation of corporate-wide software program. Experience Preferred: Project manager for implementation of EHR/EMR (preferably NextGen.) Strong written and verbal communication skills.
