Job Description
Strategic Duties and Responsibilities:
Assessment of the DoD market in the west in partnership with AECOM business development personnel and jointly identify key pursuits.
Work with AECOM management to identify and team with key General Contractors for specific design build pursuits identified above
Actively engage potential clients through attendance of trade functions such as SAME, as well as visits to bases and installations.
Develop teams to support and encourage innovative cost saving solutions for key facility designs in partnership with General Contractor teaming partners.
Understand capabilities of the home office and other offices within the region to and foster a collaborative approach to projects as appropriate to delivery the best services to the client.
Tactical Duties & Responsibilities: May include but not limited to the following:
Experience in Design Build delivery methods preferred as this is common in DoD
Accountable for the development, coordination, and execution of the design activities and personnel under his/her direction on a day-to-day basis
Establish scope, work plan and work schedule and ensure this is communicated to project staff and department manager
Maintain action plan
Must have a thorough understanding of the responsibilities to both the Company and the clients as set forth by the contractual agreements
Develop, implement and administer operational procedures, controls and administrative systems necessary to meet contractual obligations
Ensure that projects are conducted within budget and on schedule
Interface with clients on schedules, meetings and issues
Advise senior management of the projects status on a regular basis
Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate plans for alternative actions
Monitor performance vs. budget and develop strategies for corrections before overruns occur
Train, mentor and develop staff
Close out project
Ensure that QA/QC procedures are being implemented and followed at all phases of a project in accordance with AECOM s Quality Assurance Program procedures
Maximize profit while minimizing risk
Education:
Bachelor s degree in related subject or equivalent experience.
Registration or licensing required if applicable to type of work
Experience:
Incumbent generally has over 15 years of related experience including over 7 years in a supervisory role. Incumbent generally has managed very complex projects.
Supervisory Skills:
Provides direction and guidance to staff members of varied functions. Should provide guidance to and management of sub-consultants.
Scope of Responsibility:
Decisions made with understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines.
Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines.
