Job Description: The Senior Mortgage Lender for SVB Private Bank is a great opportunity for candidates with experience in the mortgage industry. The Senior Mortgage Lender will engage in the following activities:
Act as internal mortgage Lender for clients of SVB Private Bank.
Develop relationships with mortgage lenders both in and out of California.
Place Portfolio mortgage loans, which may have unique characteristics, at terms favorable to our clients.
Leads will be directed to the Senior Mortgage Lender by the Private Bank team members, so the responsibility for new business generation will not be a component of this role.
Success in this position will be gauged by level of client satisfaction with services provided.

Specific Job Duties:

Interview client to determine real estate needs

Take real estate application

Assess borrower's circumstances

Make recommendation to client re:

mortgage alternatives available

Understand underwriting criteria and documentation process

Compile all necessary due diligence documents (pay-slips, bank statements and all other relevant documentation)

For loans funded by SVB, prepare SVB Credit Approval Worksheet, working closely with Senior Credit Officers

Review terms and conditions of loan with client

Follow through with client, and other relavant parties (title company) until loan is funded

Skills and Requirements: 5+ years of direct mortgage brokerage experience,
Previous experience in working with high net worth borrowers desired.

Outstanding knowledge of all applicable real estate regulations and track record of compliance.

Knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC and government lending guidelines

Strong computer skills required: Windows XP, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, Powerpoint

Self-motivator with ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Detail oriented with a sense of pride in their work

Ability to multi-task in a fast pace environment and think "outside of the box"

Excellent phone skills and professional attitude

Analytical and problem-solving skills
Pofessionalism and diplomacy with clients and co-workers
