Please note that we do not have an ED training program. Those considered must already have ED RN experience, preferably in pediatrics.

JOB SUMMARY:

Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care, taking into consideration the age, developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources, as needed.

Skills / Requirements

Minimum Education:

Associates Degree or Nursing Diploma

At least one year of professional nursing experience

Current California RN license

Current CPR certification (Issued by American Heart Association)

PALS Certification within first 6 months of hire

ENPC (within 6-month of hire if no previous peds ER experience; Only required once; Not required if per diem)

TNCC (within 1-year of hire or within 1 year after promoting to CN2; Only required once; Not required if per diem)

ACLS (within 1-year of hire or within 1 year after promoting to CN2; Not required if per diem)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

Three years of experience

Pediatric nursing experience in a comparable, high-acuity department

Bilingual Spanish

EOE/M/F/D/V
