This is a Casual, Grant-Funded position with an anticipated assignment length through June 30, 2013.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, provides administrative and clerical support by processing, maintaining, and supporting overall responsibilities related to departmental functions and systems. Assists management with the completion of human resources related issues. Assists in the preparation and processing of grant proposals, maintains grant documents, answers questions pertaining to requirements of federally-funded grants, organizes and maintains work flow of the Research office and recognizes and respects confidential information. Oversees clerical workflow and assures completion of tasks is professionally performed to support the efficient productivity of the department. Performs/assists in accounting functions, including monitoring and accounting for all Cash accounts; answers questions concerning the Research Center grants and general accounting.



Skills / Requirements

Minimum Education:

Graduation from high school or equivalent


Two years of cumulative experience in one of the following areas:

- Prior hospital, health care, university institutions or legal agencies

- Working with external funding agencies in developing contract or grant funding

- Working with concepts and methods related to grant funding including federal, state and local regulations

- Basic accounting or one year budget monitoring and analysis experience

- General administrative secretarial experience


Must be able to take a variety of projects from inception through successful implementation; manage time effectively; maintain effective interdepartmental relationships, communicating effectively, acting independently, and interacting in a calm, professional manner; recognize urgent situations and determine appropriate action or resolution; and compose and edit written materials; monitor and analyze operating budgets

Must be detail-oriented, type at least 50 wpm and have good written (grammar, spelling, and punctuation) and oral communications

Advanced level of computer experience, preferably with MS Office (word processing, spreadsheets, power point, and databases), MS Outlook, the Internet, and similar software packages

Experience working with confidential information in a multi-disciplinary environment, performing and prioritizing multi-task assignments under minimal supervision, and meeting deadlines
