SUMMARY: Responsible for Customer Service for the North Campus operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following; however other duties may be assigned.

 Provide high quality customer service and effectively communicate policies and procedures to the public, acting on the principle that the customer comes first.
 Accept monetary donations and "in-kind donations" from customers, acquiring proper donor information and making every attempt to add to the Society‚s contact base via postal and electronic mail.
 Accurately process adoptions, animal intakes, owner reclaims, license sales and renewals, and all other data entry tasks utilizing Shelter Buddy and any other task appropriate software.
 Effectively communicate Society policies regarding owner reclaims, adoption, euthanasia, and relinquishment process.
 Maintain knowledge of all Society departments and services in order to efficiently direct customers or transfer calls.
 Perform clerical duties such as data entry, answering multi-line phones, filing, and records maintenance as necessary.
 Responsible for collecting monies, maintaining the cash drawer, and providing daily reconciliation.
 Willingly assist others in all shelter programs and special events.
 Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, and the public at all times.
 Completion of assigned cross training and of Customer Service training program.
 Ensure that the lobby, work stations and other common areas are kept clean and maintained daily.

Skills / Requirements

EDUCATION, SKILL, EXPERIENCE: High School graduate or equivalent required. Two years experience in customer service preferred, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have experience using multi-line phones, multi-tasking and one-year data entry experience. Cash handling preferred. Familiarity with MS office software is preferred. Experience in animal sheltering and Shelter Buddy software is preferred. Some knowledge of animal behavior and dog and cat breeds preferred. Bi-lingual highly desirable.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individual will have extended periods of sitting, talking and hearing. May need to bend, stoop and stretch for purposes of filing and lifting and moving of supplies and animals weighing up to 50 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Indoors or outdoors exposure that includes environmental conditions working near animals.
