Location: California-San Diego

Duties include management of Tactical Vehicle Software development personnel, creating direct hiring requisitions, interviewing, hiring, conducting performance assessments using the PMP process, compensation adjustments, training oversight/ approval as well as other routine personnel issues. Position will be responsible for evaluate, develop, document and implement program processes. General responsibilities include maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction, addressing corrective actions in timely manner and managing budget, schedule, SOW, risks, and issues. Support technical quality by reviewing and approving technical approaches and estimates in support of proposal development and by participation in engineering program reviews when requested. Individual must have proven leadership qualities and a comprehensive background/understanding of all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle. Must have experience in the lifecycle of complex software systems, with emphasis on software development. This position requires the ability to develop metrics for tracking both the quality and timeliness of the software organizations products and identification and remediation of potential issues before they become problems. Also will be responsible for staffing and performance evaluations of 20+ engineers.

Skills / Requirements

Basic Qualifications: Individual must have proven leadership qualities and a comprehensive background/understanding of all aspects of the Software Development lifecycle. A BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, plus 10 years industry experience. Currently on the VTUAV program. An active DoD Security Clearance and the ability to obtain a Special Access Clearance are required.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced degree, related field preferred, experience with CMMI or other process improvement initiatives (e.g. Six Sigma) is a plus.
