Job Preview:
The Medication Tech/Resident Services Aide assists residents with self-administation of medications, and provides personal care and non personal care assistance to residents when there is a need. Assists residents so that independent living can be maintained for as long as appropriate and possible.

This is an opportunity for a recent RN or LVN graduate to gain valuable work experience while waiting to receive your license. A three month commitment is required.

Accepts, accounts, and documents all new medications brought into the facility. Safely prepares and aides with resident self-administration of medications with zero medication error rate. Maintains accurate medication documentation and records.
Responds to all medical emergencies in Independent Living.
Takes vital signs as indicated.
Safely prepares and assists with resident self-administration of medications.
Changes beds, gives showers or baths and assists with dressing.
Provides personal driving and escort services to resident as requested.
Makes daily rounds to ill residents.
Keeps Supervisor informed of residents' status.

Skills / Requirements

Requirements:

Minimum work experience may be met by either: 1. One year of experience as a caregiver in a facility with a minimum of six months providing medication assistance. In-home caregiving experience may also be transferable. or 2. Current CNA certification. or 3. A recent RN or LVN grad who is waiting to receive your license. A three month commitment is required.
Current First Aid, CPR and AED certification (or the ablility to be recertified).
DMV Clearance
High school graduate or equivalent.
