The position of Maintenance Mechanic located in Monrovia, CA will coordinate and/or perform all plant maintenance activities including preventive, planned, and emergency maintenance. Perform 3M Designated Rep. functions with outside contractors. Coordinate small engineering projects and assist Engineers on larger projects.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties:
* Coordinate or perform preventive maintenance as needed including calibration, lubrication, hoists, fire extinguishers, etc.
* Perform a variety of maintenance and repair work on plant production equipment including overhauling, adjusting, modifying, timing, and aligning of mechanical devices.
* Maintain and repair thermal oxidizer, LFL systems, and control instruments. Maintain and repairs electrical equipment and systems. Inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC systems.
* Maintain and repair general facilities including floors, windows, doors, roofs, plumbing, etc.
* Read blue prints, schematics, drawings, and specifications.
* Perform some development work and fabrication of parts where no design drawings or information is available.
* Coordinate maintenance activities with contract maintenance firms as needed. On site Designated Representative duties
* Coordinate small engineering projects including bid getting and evaluation, etc. Assist Engineers on larger projects as needed.
* Use a variety of measurement equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, manometers, flow meters, gas analyzers, tachometers, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.
* Set up and operate a variety of power tools including saws, knife sharpener, drills, gas and electric welders, grinders, etc. Maintain tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
* Complete necessary maintenance logs, time and work records, and equipment performance data utilizing CMMS or equivalent maintenance documentation program.
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M testing.

Qualifications
Basic/Minimum Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED
* Minimum of 5 years experience doing hands-on maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Two year technical degree in a maintenance field
* Safety experience in a manufacturing facility
