We are currently seeking an IT Project Manager to work on the Fresh Start program. The location is in Irvine, California.
This position requires that candidates demonstrate senior-level IT project management experience in leading large IT projects and/or programs.
Candidates should have a high-degree of expertise both with the Project Management Life Cycle and the System Development Life Cycle.
Candidates must have demonstrated a proven track record of managing matrixed project teams on large technology initiatives, as well as showing expert-level practice of status reporting, project communication, risks/issues tracking, project scheduling and project budgeting.
The below outline will summarize the role specifications:
Managing projects around systems and data architecture
Responsible for multiple projects simultaneously
Capital projects involved in updating and consolidating functionality in various systems related to provider demographics
Heavily involved with setting up recurring status meetings with the business, fielding questions from the business, as well as handling issues that arise from the business
Anticipating issues and acting proactively to address potential issues
Gathering and updating project materials, completing budgeting, forecasting, project documentation, business flows, and lessons learned documents
Speaking to details of the project to both the business and technical teams from beginning to end of all projects
Obtaining maximum value from Information Technology project management services
Utilizing organizational resources appropriately
Management of key projects to ensure successful completion
Managing cross-functional interdependencies
Improving processes to optimize performance and value over time
Providing risk management and issue/problem resolution as required
Core Responsibilities will include:
Driving consistency in processes that tie into technology
Obtaining maximum value from IT project management services
Utilizing organizational resources appropriately
Management of large, strategic IT projects to ensure successful completion
Managing cross-functional interdependencies
Improving processes to optimize performance and value over time
Providing risk management and issue/problem resolution as required
Ensure projects are managed in accordance with the Optum Rx system development methodology
Skills / Requirements
Candidates will possess the following qualifications:
7+ years of project management experience in the technology space
5+ years of data gathering/analysis and writing system requirements
PMP Certification
Experience managing complex projects with budgets in excess of $1M+
Demonstrated success delivering technology projects on time, on budget and on quality
Demonstrated competency in building and leading teams
Demonstrated competency managing multiple, large projects simultaneously
Ability to influence people to follow sound project management practices
Ability to build and maintain trusted relationships with customers and peers
Experience effectively communicating project/program missions and objectives
BA/BS degree required
Location based in Irvine, CA office
Assets
- Experience within the healthcare industry preferred
- Proficiency with MS Office (Including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
- Proficiency with MS Project
- Proficiency with MS Visio
- Knowlege of Planview
- Healthcare Industry experience
