The Vehicle Engineering organization is seeking a Section Manager for Rancho Bernardo Equipment and Lines Engineering, reporting to the Department Manager Integrated Systems Mechanical Design in the Integrated Vehicle Systems & Electro-Mechanical Design Center of Excellence (COE). The Section Manager will lead a group of approximately 20 engineers responsible for the routing and installation of electrical wiring. The Manager's Section will provide support to multiple programs in both unclassified and classified environments. This position is an additional duty tobe attached to an existing program assignment.The position will allow the selected candidate to work in the Section Manager role for an average of up to 20% of their normal work hours. This is not a %22Full-Time%22 position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to section team members, ensuring members have sufficient statement of work, managing employee performance (including engagement strategies for higher performers and corrective actions for lower performers), coordinating with programs to ensure appropriate staffing/de-staffing actions are developed and executed relative to their section, and ensuring their employees are familiar with and use required engineering processes and tools. The candidate will be the first point of contact for technical issues on programs involving section members and will make decisions regarding required escalation and resources required for resolution. Responsibilities also include day-to-day operation of the functional organization including employee movement and balancing of resources among programs, and resolving critical/urgent program/technical issues.

Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
BS Degree or equivalent plus at least nine years of related experience in the routing and installation of aircraft or spacecraft electrical wiring. Must be able to obtain a DOD Secret or higher security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Management and prior management experience
