Location: California-Palmdale
This position is a hybrid role performing program technical work (majority of time) and people management. Successful candidate will lead a section whose functions include: acquisition of engineering materials, warehousing operations, inventory and property control, and kitting of parts and materials at the Palmdale and Edwards AFB sites. The primary work location is in Edwards AFB. Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs).
Responsibilities include:
* Managing cost, schedule, and technical performance of section
* Performing on technical statements of work, while maintaining people management responsibility for approximately 10 to 15 direct reports
* Leading the timely resolution of any technical or other issues by leveraging the appropriate mix of resources; guide teams in selecting and applying the most appropriate tools, techniques, and approaches to solving issues
* Hiring, managing and developing employees
* Ensuring common processes are used by section members across programs where appropriate; influence department use of common tools and processes
* Communicating information/issues between the section and upper management
Skills / Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
BS degree or equivalent plus at least10 years of related experience. Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
