Description
Job Description and Responsibilities
The Document Control Specialist for Engineering will manage all aspects of the Engineering Document Control function within the requirements of ISO 9001, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager.
Essential Job Functions
Carries out release and distribution of controlled documents for new releases and QSC and ECR changes.
Checks accuracy of the ECR and supporting documents.
Processes ECRs per procedure including the incorporation of drawing changes and changes to the BOM/RTG/IM MRP system.
Files engineering drawings into the released drawings folder for production.
Maintains the QSC and ECR databases.
Verifies that new product release documentation and Item Master Add forms are complete.
Processes quality System Changes per procedure including checking in and releasing documents in Workflow (Meridian).
Input new parts into the MRP system from the Item Master Add forms.
Organizes and leads CCB meeting.

Qualifications
Qualifications

3 - 5 years experience in Quality, Documentation Control, and Regulatory Affairs.
Working knowledge of QA, Release and Configuration Management, Regulatory Affairs.
Working knowledge of Design Control practices.
Experience with the auditing of Design History File.
Experience in Software or Hardware Verification & Validation preferred.
Previous experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems required.
Intermediate level MS Excel, MS Word skills, and Access preferred.
Knowledge of and experience maintaining item master and bills of materials and routing structures in MRP systems.
Knowledge of and experience processing engineering and document changes in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of drawings with respect to revisions, title block, bills of materials.
Education/Knowledge:
A minimum of an AA/AS degree, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Working knowledge of engineering document control for manufacturing company required.
Previous document control experience of at least three years within a manufacturing environment is required.
Skills/Aptitudes:
Excellent English written and oral communication.
Excellent organizational skills.
Competent reading and math skills.
Intermediate level computer skills, minimum typing speed 45 wpm.
Highly developed professionalism when working with internal and external customers.
Logical problem solver.
Ability to work with a high work load with interruptions and deadlines.
Self starter.
Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
