JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

As the Director of Sales & Marketing, you will report to the General Manager and must be able to perform effectively in each of these areas:

* Directing and managing all group, leisure, catering, banquet, recreation and reservations sales activities to maximize revenue.
* Preparing, implementing and compiling data for various reports such as annual sales plan, monthly sales report, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts, etc.
* Developing rates, group ceilings, and deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix management.
* Directing all advertising, public relations, and promotional activities.
* Actively participating in sales presentations, property tours, and customer meetings.
* Conducting various meetings such as staff, daily business review, and weekly strategic reservations and yield management.
* Administering ongoing sales training programs.
* Implementing policies and procedures for the Sales and Marketing Department, including compliance of all company standards relating to quality of products and services.
* Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining associates, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
* Managing all department team members.
* Monitoring business volume forecast and planning accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
* Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
* Communicating changes or new policies and procedures to team members.
* Maintaining flexibility and a willingness to take on new and different tasks as needed and as directed by the General Manager.

Skills / Requirements

Our ideal candidate will have the following:

* At least 3 years of sales experience with some experience directing and leading a sales team.
* Strong selling skills.
* Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Experience with developing and implementing sales plans and initiatives to increase profitability.
* Ability to work weekends and evenings as needed.
