Jobing Description

This position is accountable for preparing complete meals for Residential, Assisted Living, and Health Facility food services in accordance with planned menus, using established recipes. This position reports directly to the Food Service Director.

Shifts include 6:00am-3:30pm and 10:00am-6:30pm, days vary.

Skills / Requirements

1. This position requires one year‚s experience as a hot-line cook. The position must be able to communicate effectively in English and be able to read and write English well in order to maintain records. The ability to obtain a food handler‚s permit is a must.

2. This position requires a person with the ability to work independently and understands the rules of safety and sanitation according to Title 22 and OBRA. Company policy and weighing ingredient knowledge is a must. This position must be able to taste and smell food to determine quality and palatability.

3. This position must be able to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc. in excess of fifty (50) pounds and have the ability to move intermittently during the work day.

4. Ability to work in close harmony with others especially with youth and with elderly. Compassion for seniors is a must.

5. A high degree of personal cleanliness and hygiene are required.
