St. Paul strives to be THE most outstanding and innovative provider of senior services and housing in California. A leading multi-level provider since 1960 we are recruiting for an outstanding Controller (CPA strongly preferred) to join our dedicated management team.

We are centrally located in Bankers Hill within walking distance of Balboa Park, minutes from the Embarcadero, Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy and with easy access to I-5, 163 and 8.

The Controller directs the daily financial affairs of the organization, and manages financial reporting, analysis and budgeting under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer. Candidates for this position will have a hands-on orientation, be comfortable working within a multi-dimensional organization and have excellent communication skills. Management succession possible within 5 years.

Skills / Requirements

1.Recruit, train and supervise finance staff to effectively accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
2.Oversee daily operations of the finance department.
3.Supervise the timely production, review and distribution of monthly financial reports to departmental supervisors, management and the Finance Committee.
4.Analyze monthly operating results and identify/investigate budget variances.
5.Prepare financial analyses for operations planning.
6.Working with the Chief Financial Officer, coordinate the annual planning, preparation, review, and approval of financial budgets.
7.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory reporting requirements.
8.Establish and implement departmental policies & procedures.
9.Attend and report to Finance Committee and other planning, policy-making, and oversight committees as required.
10.Direct financial audits and coordinate cost report preparation.
11.Thorough knowledge of finance principles including generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
12.Working knowledge of computerized financial & accounting systems and their implementation.
13.Ability to articulate clearly and accurately, both orally and in writing.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1.Bachelors or post-graduate degree in Accounting.
2.5 years successful experience as Controller (or equivalent) with a healthcare organization.
3.Licensed Certified Public Accountant in good standing.
