The Clinical Director of Therapeutic Recreation plans, organizes and implements the continuous delivery of quality recreation therapy services for entire Casa Colina continuum, including Casa Colina's Outdoor Adventure program; ensures that all appropriate clients within Casa Colina programs are aware of our various recreation therapy opportunities and are encouraged to participate in activities as part of the continuum of care. Responsibilities include development of and adherence to policies and procedures, yearly budgets and review of all finances associated with recreational therapy services, regulatory compliance, clinical program development and staff development including mentoring. Develops schedule and assures resources are provided within required budget and time guidelines, works cooperatively with Foundation staff to raise resources to sustain the Outdoor Adventures Program, supervises recreation staff, including extensive volunteer staff.
QUALIFICATIONS: Formal education in Therapeutic Recreation, licensed (or eligible) in the State of California. Minimum of five (5) years experience working in clinical and outdoor related activities with persons with special physical and/or mental needs. Experience working with Foundation planning and implementing fund raising events. Ability to interface with the community and other professionals relative to rehabilitation, outdoor adventures and fundraising. Knowledge and skills in cultivating potential donors and sponsors. Valid California drivers license with no moving violations of driving under the influence citations in the past First Aid Certification and CPR/AED certification is required. Applicants with current BLS may be hired, but must obtain AHA CPR/AED within thirty days of employment. Wilderness First Responder Certification and advanced open water SCUBA certification, preferred.
