Since 1969, San Ysidro Health Center (SYHC) has been providing quality, low-cost, primary health care services to South Bay & Central/Southeastern San Diego residents. SYHC offers an extensive array of family-oriented primary health care services, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, adult medicine, dental care, mental health, podiatry, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy. SYHC is dedicated to providing excellence in health care services and programs for all people of all ages - from infants to seniors. We currently have an opening at our corporate office for a Business Services Supervisor.
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for the supervision of the timely and accurate keying of encounter information and process development in an online environment.
Essential Functions:
1. Prepares work schedules, assigns personnel, provides appropriate training, evaluates work performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions including but not limited to periodic performance evaluation and progressive disciplinary action.
2. Responsible for ensuring standards for controlling work flow and maintaining the integrity of the data being entered by the implementation of key indicators and monitors that provide continuous quality of the charge entry process in an online setting.
3. Demonstrates the ability of the Charge Entry Unit to consistently meet month-end deadline for closing the Accounts Receivable system month to month.
4. Prepares and reviews reports necessary to monitor and provide assistance to the Charge Entry Unit staff during high volume periods to prevent backlogs.
5. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.
6. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings and workshops.
7. Attends meetings as required and participates on committees as directed.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Skills / Requirements
Education: Minimum High School Diploma
Certification: CPT and ICD-9 Coding Certificate preferred
registration
Experience: 3-4 years charge entry in health care or related field.
2 years supervisory experience
Technical Knowledge: Charge corrections, data input, contract adjustments, and related entry activities.
Bilingual(English/Spanish) Preferred
