WIS International is one of the largest inventory service providers in the world. We have 200 offices throughout the United States, Canada, Latin and South America, Europe and Asia. Presently WIS International is seeking a highly motivated Benefits Manager to join our team.


The Benefits Manager works under the general supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources. This position exists to develop, oversee and manage a comprehensive Benefits Program designed to attract and retain qualified candidates and employees, and to ensure that the company benefit strategy, programs and policies are internally equitable, externally competitive, legally compliant and consistent with achieving organizational goals. The Benefits Manager is responsible for the direct supervision of the Employee Benefits Team currently consisting of two individuals.

JOB DUTIES

* Improve the competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of WIS benefit plans by formulating, developing and implementing long range strategies and short term tactical plans for all health and welfare plans.

* Management of ongoing administration responsibilities related to the WIS International frozen pension plan, 401(k) retirement savings plan, and deferral compensation plan. Coordinate retirement committee meetings, information needs and record keeping requirements.

* Negotiate the purchase and servicing of group plan products, open enrollment, and clarify various benefit-related issues and strategies by maintaining effective liaison with various insurance vendors, brokers and/or other benefit professionals.

* Oversee audit and reconcile all benefit invoices for all plans and process check requests no later than invoice due dates. Contact benefit providers as needed to resolve claims issues, verify eligibility and handle all other administrative matters. Ensure all additions, deletions and other administrative changes are processes to all benefit plans in a timely manner. Ensures that all benefit records are kept up to date. Responds to all audit requests.

* Interpret the impact of risk from proposed regulatory changes on current WIS policies by remaining current in the knowledge of recently enacted legislation affecting private employer benefit plans and their administration.

* Plan, develop, implement and evaluate wellness programs and strategies company wide directed at improving quality of life and lowering claims experience.

* Oversees leave of absence administration including in-house salary continuation program. Responsible for compliance with state and federal leave laws.

* Ensure executive and middle management employees are knowledgeable about benefit programs by providing continuous education, advice and counseling.

* Educate employees about benefits programs by planning developing and implementing a variety of communication strategies and tactics.

* Provide leadership by training, coaching and supervising the Benefits Team staff.



JOB REQUIREMENTS


Education: Normally requires a bachelor‚s degree or equivalent, preferably in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related curriculum. CEBS, PHR and/or Human Resource Management certification is beneficial.

Experience: Five plus years of growing benefits management experience, with a minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity.

Knowledge: Knowledge and understanding of insurance principles and laws related to the administration of employee benefits. Must have an extensive understanding of federal and state employee benefit regulations, (e.g. ERISA, HIPAA, etc...) as well as administration procedures. Working knowledge of HRIS systems and automated processes pertaining to benefits administration. International benefits experience is a plus.



Skills:

* Manage and administer the Health & Welfare, 401(K), frozen Defined Benefit Pension, Leave of Absence plans, deferred compensation plans, and/or programs according to WIS policies and legal requirements.

* Ensure all programs remain cost competitive.

* Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with service providers, including group insurance broker, insurance carrier, retirement plan trustee and administrators and financial advisors to help ensure smooth and effective program functioning.

* Demonstrated ability to remain abreast of legal and legislative changes which may impact the benefit programs.

* Ability to partner with payroll department to ensure smooth processing of all employee deductions pertaining to benefits.

* Manage annual renewal process for all employee groups (Full time & Part time).

* Develop effective relationships and partnerships with Division Human Resource Managers and business partners at all levels within the organization.

* Ability to present materials and speak in public to employee audiences of all sizes.

* Ability to educate, coach and advise executive and middle management employees on benefit policies.

* Ensure government reporting requirements are met (5500s, SPDs, SMMs, SARs, etc.) and other benefits communications in accordance with federal and state legislation; Review contracts and agreements to ensure company compliance with federal and state laws including HIPAA, DOL, ERISA and COBRA.

* Excellent planning, organization, negotiation and leadership skills.

* Strong customer and results orientation.

* Ability to translate benefit cost information into relevant business plan discussion.

* Demonstrated ability to proactively push vendors, brokers, carriers to accommodate desired outcomes.

* Ability to facilitate change.

* Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

* Strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Proficiency in benefit related systems applications and Microsoft Office.
