Position Description:


Positions in this function are responsible for initial triage and counseling of members. Employees in this function require a Masters Degree in counseling, psychology, social work or marriage, family, and child counseling


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Perform telephone intakes, determines member eligibility and benefits, and makes counseling referrals

  • Conduct telephone intakes, assess callers for risk factors to ensure caller's safety and to triage urgent cases, and process requests for counseling

  • Complete intake process by informing client and counselor of counseling or assessment authorization

  • Arrange assessment appointments in urgent cases, follow up with caller or clinician to ascertain safety of caller

  • Execute appropriate records to facilitate processing of intake

  • Follow appropriate eligibility procedures

  • Consult with Intake Supervisor on a regular basis

  • Quote and explain benefits to members and providers of care

  • Cover the emergency line, intake queue or special account lines

  • Create and maintain appropriate clinical records

  • Participate as directed in the Quality Assurance Program

  • Will work on company holidays and fill in on other shifts as required

  • Must be able to work an 8 hour shift between the hours of 5:00 AM and 7:30 PM Monday through Friday

Skills / Requirements


Requirements:


  • 1+ year experience face to face mental health experience

  • 2+ years (strong) typing skills and competent in MS Office

  • Call center experience and/or experience providing counseling over the phone

  • Masters level education in psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage, family, and child counseling

  • Knowledge of contemporary assessment and treatment modalities in the areas of chemical dependency and mental health

  • 2+ years experience with telephone intakes and/or direct services working in the areas of mental health and chemical dependency
