Jobing Description

Elmer Sweetwood & Sons, a great local San Diego Repair Shop has been serving the community since 1948 and is currently hiring an Experienced Automotive & Smog Technicians.

Duties Include:

  • Testing vehicle emission using latest BAR97 equipment
  • Diagnosing and Repairing Smog Check Failures and non-Smog related repair/maintenance work.
  • Responsible for following all applicable state regulations, per Bureau of Automotive Repair, performing smog certifications.
  • Ensure a highly satisfying experience for every single guest
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws (BAR) as well as company policies and procedures.

    Skills / Requirements

    Skills/ Requirements:

  • Must be able to operate BAR97 equipment and have basic computer skills, with a current Smog License
  • Other certifications will positively affect compensation
  • Good working knowledge of technical information services such as On Demand, All Data and Identifix Direct hit
  • Good working knowledge in the use of Scan Tools
  • Minimum inventory of tools to perform the duties of Automotive Technician.
  • Must have current and valid Smog Check Technician License, meeting or comparable to ASE certifications: A6, A8, L1, OBDII, and Advanced Clean Air Car Course
  • Previous experience as a Smog Technician.
