The Community Development Branch of the YMCA is looking for a Program Leader to work with elementary aged students in an after school program. Candidates must be available during the following times: Mondays 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm, Tuesday - Fridays 2:00 pm -5:30 pm.

Primary job responsibilities include:

Responsible for safety and supervision of a group of 15-20 youth.

Work with supervisor in planning and implementing the program for the children in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the YMCA and in compliance with the partnering agency specifications.

Assist with the development and implementation of the curriculum and maintaining records and reports i.e. attendance and snack rosters.

Responsible for building relationships with families and school faculty.

Work in a team environment with others, ensuring the enrichment of programs is educational and fun for the participants.

Prepare lesson plans and develops lesson plans that are age appropriate and consistent with the mission of the YMCA.

Skills / Requirements

1. Must be 18 years of age or older.
2. High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree required and/or passes the District test.
3. Current CPR and 1st Aid Certification required within first 3 months of employment.
4. Previous experience with diverse populations.
5. Ability to plan, organize, and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities
6. Minimum of one year experience working with and supervising children.
7. Experience with MAC and PC format computers is preferred. Bilingual with English/Spanish preferred. Some Childhood Education / Child Development units preferred.
