St. Paul‚s McColl Family Health Center is a non-profit, 59-bed, skilled nursing community providing both skilled and custodial care. We have received a 5-Star rating from CMS and have recently been honored as the #1 skilled nursing community out of 23 in San Diego by AdvisorMed.
We are currently accepting applications for a full time Activities Coordinator to join our top-rated team. The Activity Coordinator‚s role is to foster a sense of true community while providing an array of activities and programs to satisfy the body, mind and spirit. You will be responsible for coordinating all resident activities in and outside of the community and should have an understanding and sensitivity to the needs of seniors. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team and will require active involvement in resident-centered care. The work schedule is Monday - Friday with an occasional weekend day for special functions.
Responsibilities:
* Be responsible for the development, coordination, and implementation of a successful activity program.
* Maintain appropriate facility documentation as it relates to the Activity Department.
* Instruct, guide, and coach Volunteers in ways to conduct activities listed on the calendar, as well as how to supplement the schedule with spontaneous activities.
Skills / Requirements
* Associates Degree (A.A.) OR equivalent from a 2 year college OR technical school OR 6 months to 1 year experience and/or training.
* A valid Activities Certificate
* 2 years experience working in a social or recreational program and 1 year experience working in a resident activities program in a skilled nursing community preferred.
* Experience with activities in a Dementia Program preferred.
* Be dependable, creative, enthusiastic, and have patience with our residents. You must have the ability to teach, supervise and orient. In addition, you must have the willingness to accept direction and assume responsibility.
